I'm a twenty-one year old government built super soldier. No I'm not saying that because I think it'll get girls. If I was trying to get some action I'd say I was a ninja.

Seriously thought? Government built. I'm not human. I'm an X5, and yeah I look human, but I'm not. They crammed a lot of stuff into our genetic code, some genius, reflexes like you wouldn't believe, great cat DNA. You know, typical stuff. If you're raised in a military barracks/torture chambermedical facility.

Then our handlers decided that they'd had enough of us and tried to torch us. Most of us got out. Ooops. Not that it ends there of course. Now we've got the government and these freak Familiars hunting us down. Because breathing is a crime punishable by death and dissection. If we're lucky, in that order.

So. . .yeah, sometimes I not a ray of sunshine.

But I figure, screw it. I was designed, and built to protect people, and that's what I'm going to do.

(OOC: This Alec, who is currently main Alec on the journal, has left Seattle and is hunting with Dean Winchester (jstliketherifle). Most of his prompts will be taken from a DA stand point, but SPN will be creeping in. Because I am a needy looser and need a story like to be happy.)

Occupation: Living. And heading up Terminal City with Maxie.

Bio: In some weird fit of nostalgia I keep my old U.S. Armed Forces ID in my wallet. Once upon a time if was pretty damned useful. Got me into all sorts of restricted places and gave me a whole truck load of privileges. It also proclaimed that I was X5-494 and there for an object. One of the worlds finest weapons. I am still one of the world finest weapons, but I've got a name. Alec McDowell. And my military rights have been revoked. Because, hey the people that made us now want to kill us. Way to waste millions of dollars, right. That's right. Us transgenics are the reason a White House toilet seat costs thousands of dollars.

Manticore created my fine transgenic ass in a lab. Along with my sibs. Raised and trained us to be soldiers. Some of us made out better than others. We don't all look human. Some of us look damned fine. Others? Well lets just say they wont be winning and Miss America contests.

What does transgenic mean? When talking about us it means that the lab geeks took a human embryo base and souped it up. Or abused it. It depends on your point of view. We're all part animal. If your mythologically inclined we're all chimera. We're freaks, lab rats and science experiments. And now we're free.

You don't like it? Get in line behind some one who cares. Seriously, we've got our own private Freak Nation and we just want to be allowed to live. Radical idea, I know. Once we've gotten the basics, like not being shot on sight, I figure we'll work towards things. Like not being military property, basic human rights, and hell, maybe even the right to vote.

First, please note that much of the structure of and grouping of the X5's at Manticore I made up. I put it together from things I've read, some logic and imagination so that Alec would have a firm back story. This includes Alpha, Bravo and Charlie, and Delta Units, as all we really know is that Zack was the leader for Max's unnamed unit and that Alec was in a different unit all together (and that he didn't get along with his unit leader as a child).

I just thought I'd let everyone know up front that I am dyslexic, with a couple of other reading/writing issues. (I was one of those Sped kids in school.) So please try to be understanding and I'll try not to mess up too often. I have a brain and a college degree, I swear.

Statement of Creative Self Defense!: I went to Alec's Wikipedia page today (9-13-07) to get a link to X5-494-Geneticly Empowered which is like the best fictional Alec factoid website ever. And I discovered that Alec's whole page had been re-written. And, yeah maybe this will make me sound horribly egotistical, and bitchy (OMG! Return of Nazi!Typist.) but it resembles my Alec more than I'm comfortable with. Now it's Wikipedia so, not much I can do about it because I'm not turning his page into the argument that Creationism/Evolutionism is. BUT I will say that I came up with my version way before this page was updated. My Alec (as OOC as he is at times) came from my fevered brain, the DA show, the ORIGINAL wiki page and the novels. /hysterical ranting.
